While the examinations saw a cohort of successful examinees in Mechanical Engineering, a stark contrast emerged in the Certified Plant Mechanics category, where no passers were recorded.

The SPLEs are specialized examinations administered by the PRC for Filipino professionals working or residing overseas.

These exams provide a crucial pathway for them to gain professional licensure, validate their expertise, and enhance their career prospects in their host countries without having to return to the Philippines.

These licensure initiatives underscore the Philippine government's commitment to supporting its overseas workforce by providing avenues for professional growth and recognition.

For the Special Professional Licensure Examination for Mechanical Engineers, the Board of Mechanical Engineering announced that 20 out of 74 examinees successfully passed the rigorous assessment.

This represents a passing rate of approximately 27 percent. These new mechanical engineers have demonstrated the necessary competencies and knowledge required to practice their profession, meeting the standards set by the Philippine regulatory body.

The successful candidates are:

1. Bato, Jose Marie Osorio

2. Cayetano, Marlon De Gula

3. Cerbito, Mike Adrian Lomocso

4. Donieza, Jason John De La Peña

5. Dumpit, Julius Caesar Jr Montevirgen

6. Formentera, Rolando Lucanas

7. Interino, Louie Francis Omal

8. Iwayama, Kenjirou Ocon

9. Lorezca, Lorenzo Matthieu Ellera

10. Macaraeg, Bernardo Patani

11. Macarandas, Fahad Acmad

12. Mejorada, Martin Nodado

13. Namoro, John Paulo Saberon

14. Olarte, Barry De Vera

15. Peralta, John Paulo Abuelo

16. Rivera, Emerson Saguid

17. Tamayo, Freddie Aguinaldo

18. Tamayo, Samuel Pacibe

19. Tanguamos, Gerard Roy Dupitas

20. Villaruel, Jimmy Jr Carcamo

The examinations were meticulously conducted in various strategic locations across the Middle East and Asia, catering to the significant population of Filipino professionals in these regions.

Test centers included Abu Dhabi and Dubai in the United Arab Emirates; Al-Khobar, Jeddah, and Riyadh in Saudi Arabia; Doha, Qatar; Manama, Bahrain; Salmiya, Kuwait; Singapore; and Taipei, Taiwan.

This global reach ensures accessibility for Filipino mechanical engineering aspirants seeking to validate their qualifications.

However, the Special Professional Licensure Examination for Certified Plant Mechanics, also administered by the Board of Mechanical Engineering in the same international testing centers, yielded a different outcome.

The PRC confirmed that there were no successful passers in this particular category. This result, while not unprecedented in professional licensure exams, highlights the challenging nature of the assessment and the specific demands of the certified plant mechanics profession.

The PRC, through the Board of Mechanical Engineering, continues its mandate to uphold the integrity and standards of the engineering profession by ensuring that only qualified and competent individuals are granted licenses to practice, both domestically and abroad.

The mixed results of these latest SPLEs reflect the rigorous nature of the examinations designed to maintain a high level of professional excellence among Filipino engineers worldwide.
