Initial investigation revealed that the pickup veered into the opposite lane while navigating a curve and failed to notice the oncoming multicab, leading to a head-on collision.

Due to the strong impact, both Joselito and Janice sustained severe injuries, which resulted in their deaths.

Authorities are currently awaiting the decision of the victims’ family on whether to pursue legal action against the elderly driver.

Police are also conducting further investigations to determine if negligence or other factors contributed to the fatal crash.

The incident has sparked renewed concerns over road safety, particularly on curved sections of national highways, and the capability of elderly drivers to safely operate vehicles.
