The Department of Transportation – Cordillera Administrative Region (DOTr-CAR) emphasized that such actions are unacceptable, especially coming from someone in public office tasked with upholding road safety.

Executive Director Glenn Dumlao of DOTr-CAR did not mince words in expressing the agency’s stance.

“Hindi naming tino-tolerate yan... Very clear being an LTO officer for how many years, you should know the Anti-Drunk Driving,” he said.

Dumlao stressed the importance of accountability, noting that officials must uphold the law not just professionally, but also in their personal conduct.

He emphasized that being in a regulatory position comes with a responsibility to lead by example, especially when it comes to road safety laws like the Anti-Drunk Driving Act.

The incident has sparked renewed calls for stricter enforcement and monitoring of government officials, especially those in agencies responsible for public safety.
