Tragedy struck Sitio Cayag-ang, Barangay San Pedro in Albuera, Leyte on Tuesday after two young siblings were fatally attacked by their mother’s live-in partner, Abante reported.

According to initial reports, the children were asleep inside their home when a heated argument broke out between their mother and the suspect.

In the midst of the confrontation, the suspect allegedly grabbed a bladed weapon and attacked the children.

The victims were rushed to a hospital in Ormoc City, but the injuries proved fatal.

The younger child, a four-year-old girl, was declared dead on arrival. Her sibling died shortly after while undergoing medical treatment.

Their mother also sustained injuries during the incident and is currently recovering.

Following the brutal attack, the suspect fled the scene and remains at large as of this writing.

Authorities have launched a manhunt to track him down and bring him to justice.

The horrific nature of the crime has shocked the local community, prompting calls for swift action and justice for the innocent victims.

Residents expressed grief and outrage over the senseless violence inflicted upon the children, who were caught in the middle of a domestic dispute.

Still in other news, a 23-year-old man suffered from physical injuries after he was allegedly assaulted by a group of young men. According to the report of GMA Regional TV, the victim, Mat Ernest Bongo brought his female co-worker home and it was thereafter that the alleged assault took place. He sustained injuries in different parts of his body. Based on the report, the victim was also allegedly robbed by the same group.
