The lifeless body of an 11-year-old girl was found floating in a creek located in Barangay Basak, Mandaue, Cebu.

The girl was identified as Erica Cabatingan, who reportedly drowned, based on a report from TV5's 'Frontline Pilipinas.'

Her family had been searching for her, until they discovered her dead body floating in a creek just 100 meters away from their house.

According to the girl’s mother, it’s possible that her daughter suffered a seizure, which may have caused her to drown.

However, Erica's father wasn't convinced that his daughter died from drowning.

According to him, a wound on her daughter's face was found. In an interview, he said his daughter's cheek was reddish and her mouth was bleeding.

He's suspicion was that his daughter was simply thrown onto the creek.

Meanwhile, the police authorities aren't turning a blind eye of a possible foul play done to the girl.

To further conclude the real cause of the girl's death, her body will undergo an autopsy examination.

The suspect said he was there to talk to his wife and settle their misunderstanding, but unfortunately, it led to a big arguement.
