On the other hand, the private car was only brought to a halt when it crashed into a fence.
In a report by TV5's 'Frontline Express,' a live-in partner who was riding the motorcycle died in the accident.
Meanwhile, the driver of the private car was reportedly in a critical condition.
Investigations about the incident are still being conducted by the police authorities.
In the Philippines, when two vehicles collide and people die as a result, the case is usually investigated as reckless imprudence resulting in hom!cide.
This means authorities will look into whether one or both drivers were careless or violated any traffic rules.
The driver found at fault can face criminal charges, possible imprisonment, and civil liabilities such as paying for damages and funeral expenses.
Police reports, CCTV footage, witness accounts, and sometimes dashcam videos are used to determine what really happened.
The Land Transportation Office may also step in to review the driver's license and driving record.
