The victim was driving his SUV when it collided with a parked 10-wheeler wing van along the highway at Purok 3, Kilada in Matalam on Saturday morning.
He was accompanied by his 17-year-old son, who sustained a fractured leg in the crash.
According to police, Junnel was declared "dead on arrival" while his son was being treated at a local hospital. The truck driver sustained minor injuries.

Investigation revealed that they may have been exhausted since he has been staying late at the burial of his wife for several days.
The ice was meant to keep drinks cool during the wife’s burial, Palmera added. The devastating crash occurred just hours before the scheduled funeral.
Junifel’s sudden death deepened the family’s grief, turning what was already a heartbreaking day into an unimaginable tragedy.
Authorities said the family of the deceased and the owner of the parked wing van will be entering into a settlement.
