A 30-year-old Vietnamese national was arrested by authorities in connection with a frustrated h&micide case that allegedly took place during a brawl at a restaurant in Pasay City, ABS-CBN reported.

The suspect was located and apprehended by operatives of the Pasay City Police Station on Friday night at a condominium in Taguig City.

His arrest was based on a warrant issued by the Pasay Regional Trial Court on May 21.

According to Police Captain Roque Villaruel, head of the warrant and subpoena section of the Pasay City Police, the accused has been residing in the Philippines for over two years.

“Ang kaalitan niya o 'yung kasangkot sa kaguluhan na 'yan is kapwa niya din Vietnamese. Nangyari 'yan dito sa isang restaurant sa Pasay City,” said Villaruel, confirming that the altercation involved fellow Vietnamese nationals.

The suspect denied the allegations and insisted on his innocence.

“Biktima lang din,” he claimed, as relayed by Villaruel.

The suspect is currently detained at the Pasay City Police Station's detention facility.

He has been formally charged with frustrated h&micide, with bail set at ₱72,000.

The case highlights the importance of resolving disputes through lawful means and the vigilance of local authorities in executing court orders.

Investigations continue as both parties prepare to present their sides in court.

Isulan Police Chief Police Lieutenant Colonel Julius Malcontento stated that initial investigations and witness testimonies point to a personal grudge as the motive behind the killing.
