According to a report by GMA Regional TV One North Central Luzon on Friday, the incident occurred at around 1:20 a.m. on Thursday along the national highway in Barangay Puspus.

Police investigations revealed that the victim had parked his tricycle on the roadside to relieve himself.

As he was returning to his vehicle, a motorcycle carrying two passengers struck him.

Both riders sustained injuries. Authorities reported that neither of them was wearing a helmet and both had been drinking prior to the accident.

The families of the victim and the motorcycle riders are expected to meet today to discuss the incident.

Police Lieutenant Reynaldo Reynon, Admin Officer of the Bantay Police Station, emphasized the dangers of drunk driving.

“Ipinagbabawal ang pag-inom ng alak bago mag-drive. I-assess po ang sarili natin bago hawakan ‘yung manibela para hindi makapandamay ng kung sinu-sino,” he reminded the public.

This tragic event highlights the deadly consequences of impaired driving and the importance of road safety awareness, especially during late hours when visibility is low.

Authorities urge all motorists to practice responsibility behind the wheel to prevent similar incidents in the future.

Isulan Police Chief Police Lieutenant Colonel Julius Malcontento stated that initial investigations and witness testimonies point to a personal grudge as the motive behind the killing.
