A 24-year-old motorcycle rider tragically died after being pinned by a concrete electric post that fell on him early Sunday morning, May 26.

The incident occurred around 2 a.m. along a road in San Jose del Monte City. According to authorities, the electric post collapsed after it was accidentally hit by a black SUV.

The SUV driver, a 36-year-old man, turned out to be the victim’s uncle.

In an interview with Unang Balita of GMA News, Remedios Joseph, a local official, stated that the impact of the post was fatal due to its weight and the force with which it fell.

Joseph added that the young man sustained severe injuries to his ribs, further supporting the assumption that he was killed on the spot.

Initial reports suggest that both the SUV driver and the motorcycle rider had just come from a social gathering and were allegedly under the influence of alcohol.

The victim was said to be following closely behind his uncle’s vehicle when the SUV struck the post.

The father of the victim and the driver have already discussed the matter and no charges would be filed.

Meanwhile, the tragic accident has left the local community in shock, with calls for stricter road safety enforcement and more responsible behavior from motorists.

Earlier reports by Radyo Todo Aklan, which was later confirmed by other media sources say Julian, Senator Jinggoy’s son, was allegedly physically assaulted by three young men in Boracay Island during the early hours of Saturday, May 24. The reports further state that the alleged incident unfolded around 2:00 AM as Ejercito and his nephew were walking near a mini-mall after leaving a bar. Senator Jinggoy has confirmed the alleged assault.
