According to a report from "24 Oras" of GMA News, the suspect had been cared for by the family since he was a child, forming a bond that made the crime even more painful.
The incident occurred while the family was in Pangasinan to attend church, leaving the suspect alone at home.
When the eldest child returned earlier than the rest, they were shocked to find the house in disarray.

The bedroom door had been forcibly opened, and a vault inside was destroyed.
Several pieces of jewelry and other valuables were missing.
Police investigators were quickly able to trace the suspect’s whereabouts to a nearby hotel.
When authorities arrived, they recovered some of the stolen items from his possession. He was immediately taken into custody.
The betrayal has left the family heartbroken, with one member saying they treated him like their own.
The emotional weight of the incident is especially heavy, given the long-standing relationship and trust built over decades.
The suspect is now facing charges of robbery.
