A 31-year-old man named Janelo passed away due to rabies, 9 months after being bitten by a dog.
His last moments at the hospital were captured by his wife, Eva Peñalba, who is nearly due with their third child.
The dog that bit the victim was tied outside the house of his brother in Cavite.
In an interview by GMA 7's '24 Oras Weekend' with Eva, she shared that her husband looked like he was drowning or gasping for air whenever he drank water.

There was also one occasion when Janelo showed extreme fear air coming from an electric fan.
Janelo was described as a jolly person by his loved ones. That's why before passing away, he still managed to smile and record himself while giving his last message for his family, particularly his children.
In a video, Janelo said, "At sa aking mga anak, ingat kayo palagi. Lumaki sana kayong malusog. Huwag niyong kalimutang alagaan ang inyong nanay. Salamat na kayo ang naging anak ko. Ba-bye!"
According to the report, May 15 when Janelo had fever, then May 18, he passed away.
As it turned out, Janelo was bitten by the dog on August 2024. The dog that bit him went crazy that's why they killed it.
He immediately got himself an anti-rabies vaccine, however, he only had it once.
According to the report, it's possible that Janelo found the anti-rabies vaccine quite expensive, because he spent 2,500 on his first shot from a private animal bite center.
Janelo left his 2 girls, a grade two and a grade 4 students. Their third baby who's about to be delivered is also a girl.
