The pair, identified as 26-year-old Marilie Satinyamian and Fernan Pacunla, who was in his 30s, were found fatally wounded following a domestic dispute.

Police Lieutenant Roberto Indiape, chief of the Kabankalan City Police Station, confirmed the details of the incident in an interview.

According to initial investigations, the fatal altercation stemmed from an argument between Satinyamian and Pacunla.

The dispute reportedly centered on Pacunla’s disapproval of Satinyamian's intention to return to Bacolod City, where she worked as a domestic helper.

Pacunla, on the other hand, was employed as a laborer within Kabankalan City.

The precise sequence of events leading to the double fatality remains unclear, and authorities have not yet determined who initiated the use of a knife during the heated confrontation.

However, investigators are considering the possibility that both individuals simultaneously engaged in the stabbing, leading to their grave injuries.

Satinyamian reportedly succumbed to her wounds first, sustaining multiple stab injuries to her body.

Pacunla, despite his injuries, was initially transported to the District Hospital in Kabankalan City. Due to the severity of his condition, he was subsequently referred for further medical treatment at a hospital in Bacolod City.

Tragically, Pacunla passed away while en route, inside the ambulance, as it traversed Himamaylan City.

Authorities have stated that the case is considered closed, as both primary individuals involved in the incident are now deceased.

Police Lieutenant Indiape indicated that with no other parties directly involved and both protagonists having perished, the investigation into this particular case has reached its conclusion.

Further details reveal that the couple had no children together. However, Satinyamian had a 6-year-old child from a previous relationship.

The absence of direct witnesses to the tragedy complicates the reconstruction of the event, as the couple was reportedly alone in their home when the fatal altercation occurred.

This lack of external accounts means that the exact dynamics and final moments of the argument leading to the stabbings may never be fully known.

The authorities reiterate the importance of seeking assistance for domestic disputes to prevent such violent and irreversible consequences.
