Philippine National Police (PNP) operatives also arrested the companion of Tan, whom authorities identified as Wu Ja Ping.

Both were located and taken into custody at a resort in Boracay on Saturday, May 17.

The PNP’s Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) successfully tracked down the two individuals following an intensive investigation into the high-profile crime.

Tan had a significant bounty of P10 million placed on her head, underscoring the authorities’ determination to bring those responsible for Que’s death to justice.

According to investigative findings, Tan allegedly played a crucial role in the scheme by acting as the bait to convince Anson Que to go to a residence in Bulacan.

It was at this location that Que and his driver were subsequently murdered.

Furthermore, Tan is also believed to be the orchestrator behind the transfer of the ransom money.

The funds were reportedly moved from a digital wallet into cryptocurrency, a maneuver that investigators have identified as part of the financial intricacies linked to the crime.

This digital transfer was a key element in the attempt to obscure the flow of the ransom and evade detection.

The arrest of Gong Wen Li and Wu Ja Ping marks a significant breakthrough in the case.

Previously, authorities had apprehended David Tan Liao, who is considered the primary mastermind behind the kidnap-slay, along with two other individuals identified as Richardo Austria and Reymart Cateqiusta.

These earlier arrests provided crucial leads that ultimately led to the capture of the alleged co-mastermind and his associate in the popular tourist destination of Boracay.

The investigation into the kidnapping and murder of Anson Que has been a top priority for law enforcement agencies.

The steel magnate’s abduction and killing sent shockwaves through the business community and prompted a swift and comprehensive response from the PNP.

The collaborative efforts of various units within the police force were instrumental in identifying and locating the suspects.

With the arrest of these additional suspects, authorities are expected to piece together a more complete picture of the crime, including the motives and the full extent of the involvement of each individual.

The digital trail left by the ransom money transfer is also likely to provide critical evidence in the ongoing legal proceedings.

The suspects are currently in police custody and are expected to face charges related to kidnapping and murder.

The PNP has assured the public that the investigation will continue until all those involved in this heinous crime are brought to justice.

Early this month, the PNP removed the name of Alvin Que, the son of Anson, from the list of respondents in the kidnapping and murder case of his father. According to the PNP investigation, there is reportedly no direct evidence linking him to the crime. One suspect revealed Alvin's name, but the PNP emphasized that they do not simply accept his statement. The PNP is also preparing the official motion for the DOJ to formally remove Anson Que's son's name from the complaint.

It can be recalled that last month, Alvin, also known as Ronxian Gou, was accused by a suspect of ordering the kidnapping and murder of his own father, businessman Anson Que, and their driver. Alvin allegedly acted as the family’s negotiator and paid a total of P13 million in ransom through a cryptocurrency account on March 31 and April 2. Despite reports that up to P100 million was paid in ransom, Anson Que and his driver were found dead on April 9 in Rodriguez, Rizal. The PNP Anti-Kidnapping Group recommended six individuals, including Alvin Que, for preliminary investigation by the Department of Justice on April 19.
