Meanwhile, the 9-year-old child of the deceased and their grandfather were both injured.

Both the truck driver and its helper suffered scratches after jumping out before their vehicle crashed into the houses.

According to the investigation as reported by TV5's 'Frontline Pilipinas Weekend,' the victims were just sleeping when the incident happened.

The truck carrying motorcycles came from Cagayan De Oro and was bound for Liloy, Zamboanga Del Norte.

"According po sa driver, nawalan daw ng brake 'yung truck. Pagkatapos, bumangga 'yung truck sa mga bahay na malapit doon sa daanan. Kaya, 'yung tatlong buhay po ang nasawi doon," said P/MSg. RANFEL MONTANEZ, TRAFFIC INVESTIGATOR, SIAYAN POLICE.

The truck driver is currently in police custody. Meanwhile, the owner of the truck is now coordinating with the family of the victims.
