A woman's lifeless body was discovered among a pile of garbage in a dump truck in Barangay Payatas, Quezon City, on Wednesday morning.

According to the Quezon City Police District (QCPD), the body was found at around 8:15 a.m. at the corner of Saint Beatriz Street and San Lorenzo Street.

Officers from the Payatas Bagong Silangan Police Station 13 immediately responded to the scene to secure the area and begin an investigation.

Authorities are still working to identify the victim and determine the cause of her death.

The body was reportedly hidden beneath trash and only noticed during routine waste disposal.

The QCPD has issued an appeal to the public for assistance in solving the case.

“We appeal to the public for any information that may aid in the swift resolution of this case. Anyone with knowledge of the incident is encouraged to report to the nearest police station or contact QCPD directly,” the police said in an official statement.

The QCPD also assured that all information provided will be treated with the utmost confidentiality.

As of now, no suspects have been identified, and the investigation remains ongoing.

Still in other news, a 65-year-old man, Nestor Rensales, died after voting in Oas, Albay during the midterm elections. Rensales, a stroke survivor, felt dizzy and collapsed shortly after casting his vote at Oas South Central Elementary School, ABS-CBN reported. His wife shared that he insisted on voting despite the heat and early crowd, believing his vote still mattered. He was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
