Faustino, a resident of Bulacan, was described by his loved ones as a hardworking young man and the primary breadwinner of his family. “Mabigat kasi maraming pangarap si Keo para sa kaniyang pamilya,” said his uncle, Fernando Nicolas, in an interview with ABS-CBN News via Dennis Datu. Nicolas rushed to the airport as soon as he received word of the accident, only to be met with devastation.

According to Nicolas, Keo’s friends witnessed the horrifying aftermath. “Nagkagulo na, hinanap nila yung kaibigan nila. Nakita nila nasa ilalim na ng sasakyan, nakaipit,” he recounted.

What’s even more painful for the Faustino family is the belief that Dearick might have had a fighting chance—if only he had received immediate medical help. Nicolas claimed that coworkers were begging authorities at the scene to prioritize medical attention for Keo. “They were begging for help for medical assistance kasi ang kailangan medical attention eh, nagtataka sila bakit yung mga may minor injuries ang daming nagkakagulo, ito gumalaw pa at kumilos. Parang kinulang yung tulong na nakuha nila,” he said.

“Sana nabigyan man lang kaagad ng medical assistance o medical help para naisakay, nadala sa ospital, baka kasi nagkaroon ng chance na mabuhay,” Nicolas added, his voice heavy with grief.
