“Dinala sa hospital ng naghihingalo, hindi inasikaso, ayun patay!” says the caption on the video that has become viral.

Mayor Biazon, in his Facebook post and subsequent live broadcast, presented a contrasting narrative supported by the hospital’s CCTV footage.

According to the mayor, the footage revealed that the father and his daughter were inside the emergency room of Osmun for a mere three minutes.

Crucially, during this brief period, the child’s name had not even been officially recorded before the father decided to remove the child from Osmun and transport her to another medical facility.

Expressing his concern over the rapid spread of misinformation, Mayor Biazon emphasized the importance of responsible social media usage and urged the public to verify information before reacting or sharing potentially false claims.

He stressed the need to ascertain the truth before contributing to the dissemination of unverified information that can cause undue alarm and distress.

This incident underscores the pervasive challenge of fake news and the speed at which it can spread through social media platforms, often causing significant anxiety and confusion within communities.

Mayor Biazon’s proactive response and reliance on factual evidence, such as CCTV footage, highlight the crucial role of local leaders in directly addressing and correcting misinformation to maintain public trust and ensure accurate information prevails.
