The Overseas Filipino Worker, father of the 5-year-old girl who died in the NAIA Terminal 1 incident yesterday, did not proceed with his scheduled departure from the country.

According to a report by GMA 7's 'Unang Balita,' he and other family members went to a funeral facility in Pasay where the initial processing of the deceased victims took place.

The OFW father personally claimed his daughter’s remains and will be bringing her to Lipa City, Batangas.

Meanwhile, the other victim in the tragic incident, a 28-year-old male, was also claimed by his family and brought to Hagonoy, Bulacan.

In relation to this news, the Department of Transportation has released an official statement regarding the tragic incident that occurred at NAIA Terminal 1.

It can be recalled that a black SUV suddenly accelerated and rammed into a crowd, resulting in the deaths of two individuals and injuries to several others.

DOTr Secretary Vivencio "Vince" Dizon personally went to the scene of the incident and assessed the situation along with New NAIA Infra Corp. (NNIC) President Ramon Ang.

According to the DOTr’s statement, “...there was no premeditated plan to inflict harm on the NAIA passengers.”

In a previous report by KAMI, the Land Transportation Office has already taken action on the driver of the SUV that rammed people in NAIA Terminal 1. On their Facebook page, the agency said they put the driver's license on preventive suspension for 90 days while investigations are still ongoing. It can be recalled that the SUV suddenly accelerated, resulting in 2 casualties and a couple of people injured. An SCO has already been issued against the registered owner of the SUV and the driver involved in the tragic incident.

Additionally, the three individuals who were injured in the incident in NAIA Terminal 1 on May 4 have been transferred to St. Luke's Hospital. Based on the ABS-CBN report, they were initially brought to the San Juan De Dios Hospital. The injuries were the result of an SUV that crashed into NAIA Terminal 1. The incident left two dead, including a 5-year-old girl who went to the terminal to see her father off, who is an OFW.
