In a heartbreaking statement, Elmer shared his anguish over the sudden and devastating loss:

"Wala na. 'Yung pinakamamahal kong anak 'yung bunso ko, sila ng asawa ko. Nito ngang pag-alis nila, sabi niya, 'Papa, tatawag ka sa 'kin ha. 'Pag hindi, ako tatawag sa iyo.'"

The family had been looking forward to their trip, unaware it would end in tragedy. Elmer recalled the loving and affectionate nature of his youngest child, whose presence brought warmth and joy to their home.

"Ayon ang na-miss ko sa kanya. Sasabihin, 'Love na love kita, Papa. Kahit ano'ng mangyari, hindi kita iiwan.'"

Now left with the unimaginable pain of burying his child and wife, Elmer struggles to comprehend how life will go on without them.

"Ngayon, hindi ko na alam paanong gagawin ko. Nauna pa siya sa 'kin."

The Añonuevo family’s story is one of many affected by the tragic crash. As authorities continue their investigation, families like Elmer’s are left trying to pick up the pieces, mourning lives lost too soon.
