Netizens were quick to react, with some sharing their own encounters with similar videos online.
Another concerned viewer urged authorities to take action.
"Dami ganyan sa TikTok hayyy hinahayaan niyo kasi kaya marami pa rin gumagawa ng mga fake. Kung kumilos sana kayo at umaksyon sa mga ganyan para umayos sila kaso walang nangyayari. Bigyan niyo dapat ng leksyon mga yan. Kumilos kayo."
The incident highlights the growing threat posed by AI-driven misinformation and the urgent need for regulation, digital literacy, and stronger platform enforcement to protect both public figures and the integrity of information online.
News, photos or videos that arouse the interest of netizens would often go viral on social media, due to the attention netizens give them. These viral posts appeal to the emotions of netizens, and in rare cases, such could also happen to ordinary people, making them very relatable.
In other news, a senior citizen is currently in a coma after being violently dragged and knocked unconscious during a bag-snatching incident in Valencia City, Bukidnon. Surveillance footage shows the victim walking when a motorcycle-riding suspect suddenly grabs her bag, causing her to spin, fall, and lose consciousness. The suspect was not wearing a helmet and had only his face partially covered, providing authorities with usable CCTV footage for identification. Authorities are urging the public to assist in identifying the suspect and are asking anyone with information to contact the Valencia City Police Station.
Still in other news, the “West Philippine Sea” label has disappeared from Google Maps after being visible for a couple of weeks. Reversing recent prominence, the label's absence sparked renewed discussion. When Google Maps placed the label prominently on the platform weeks ago, the Philippine welcomed it as recognition of the country’s sovereignty in the area. No official explanation given for the fluctuating display of the contested area's name.
