In a press briefing at Camp Crame, PNP spokesperson BGen. Jean Fajardo stated that investigators are still gathering evidence to verify the alleged involvement of the younger Que, based on the extrajudicial confession of arrested suspect David Tan Liao, ABS-CBN reported.
Fajardo confirmed that Liao implicated Alvin Que as the person who allegedly ordered the abduction and killing of his own father.

“We do not accept hook, line, and sinker the allegation of David Tan Liao. For all we know, he’s just saying this to exculpate himself,” Fajardo said, adding that Liao had prior involvement in similar cases.
“We have to be cautious, we have to be careful, and very thorough in investigating this because there is a possibility that David Tan Liao is pointing to someone else just to gain leverage against the true mastermind—if there is any,” she added.
Fajardo noted that Alvin Que is cooperating with authorities and has voluntarily submitted his cellphone to the PNP Anti-Kidnapping Group for forensic examination “with the objective of clearing his name.”
Despite his accusations, Fajardo emphasized that Liao has not provided concrete evidence.
“May mga sinasabi po siya doon sa kanyang statements… wala po siyang mai-present,” she said.
