In a report by Emil Sumangil, Mark Angel knew how to swim, that was why when Christian and their other companions were drowning, he was there to save them.
Mark Angel was able to save some of them, but he struggled saving Christian, who was the third person whom he tried to save.
Meanwhile, according to the Quezon City Police District, for safety reasons, people are not supposed to be swimming at the Tullahan River.
The Tullahan River is a 27.1-kilometer waterway in the Philippines that originates from the La Mesa Reservoir in Quezon City and flows through several cities before emptying into Manila Bay. Historically, it has been vital for local communities, serving as a source of water for agriculture and domestic use. However, rapid urbanization and industrialization have led to significant pollution and environmental degradation, prompting various cleanup and rehabilitation efforts. In 2019, a major cleanup initiative was launched with a ₱1 billion pledge to restore the river as part of the Manila Bay rehabilitation program.
