In an interview with Teleradyo Serbisyo, Cebu Pacific spokesperson Carmina Romero explained that Bali immigration declined the passenger’s passport due to the damage.
She stressed that even if the passenger had boarded the plane, they would have been denied entry upon arrival.
Addressing criticism, she denied claims that the airline was power-tripping, News5 reported.
"Wala po kami intensyon manira ng bakasyon. Hindi po kami basag-trip. Ang kaligayahan namin ay mailipad ang aming pasahero kung saan man nila gusto pumunta," she stated.
She emphasized the airline’s responsibility to verify the integrity of travel documents.
Magiging issue po talaga yan sa inyong pagbiyahe," she said.
