The barrage of gunfire not only struck Siason's gate but also damaged his vehicle, motorcycle, stacked tiles, and other parts of his property. Fortunately, Siason and his family members were unharmed during the attack.

Police Lieutenant Roberto Arrazola Jr., Deputy for Administration of the Talisay PNP, stated that while the investigation is in its early stages, they are exploring the possibility that Siason’s work in the media industry could be a primary motive behind the crime.

However, authorities have not yet confirmed any links to political activities, despite acknowledging the sensitive nature of media work in the current climate.

Siason himself revealed to the police that this was not an isolated incident. His residence had been similarly strafed once before, on September 19, 2019.

This prior attack, coupled with the recent incident, leads Siason to strongly believe that his profession as a member of the media is significantly connected to these acts of violence.

Investigators are currently examining the area for any CCTV footage that might have captured the incident or the perpetrators.

Initial descriptions suggest that the suspects were wearing face masks and long-sleeved shirts and were riding a motorcycle. Police have not yet released any information regarding the identities of the individuals involved.

Lieutenant Arrazola indicated that the nature of the attack suggests the involvement of more than one individual.

The police are also looking into a “person of interest” related to the previous strafing incident in 2019, hoping to find connections to the recent attack.

It has been revealed that Siason has been the recipient of various threats in the past due to his work as a media practitioner. This information further strengthens the suspicion that the gun attacks are intended as a form of intimidation.

The Talisay City police have assured the public that a thorough investigation is underway. They are treating the strafing of Siason's house as a serious threat against a member of the media and are committed to uncovering the identities and motives of those responsible.

The incident underscores the risks faced by journalists and media personnel in the Philippines and has raised concerns within the media community in Bacolod and beyond.

Authorities are urging anyone with information related to the incident to come forward to assist in the ongoing investigation.
