The Lapu-Lapu City Police categorized the incident as a self-accident because no other vehicles were involved in the incident.

In the Philippines, a self-accident incident refers to an accident where no other person or vehicle is directly involved.

It means the person involved caused the accident on their own, whether due to loss of control, carelessness, or an unexpected situation.

Common examples include a motorcyclist slipping on a wet road and crashing without any other vehicle involved, a driver hitting a tree or post after falling asleep or being distracted, or someone tripping and falling without being pushed or blocked.

These cases are usually labeled as “self-accidents” in police or traffic reports for documentation and insurance purposes.

In most situations, the person involved is considered responsible, although insurance claims can still be filed if the policy covers self-accidents, though certain restrictions may apply.

According to the report of EJ Gomez in 'Unang Balita,' the 38-year-old suspect committed the crime inside the school's faculty room. Police authorities said the school has a security guard, but being a familiar face in the school, the suspect managed to easily get in and out of the school. The suspect said he was there to talk to his wife and settle their misunderstanding, but unfortunately, it led to a big arguement.
