A man was found dead with severe injuries to his face in a canal located in Barangay Cupang, Antipolo, Rizal.

CCTV footage from Purok 4 showed four men walking in the area around 2:00 AM.

A few moments later, several gunshots were heard nearby.

After the gunshots, the CCTV captured only three of the four men returning, raising suspicions about the incident.

In an interview by TV 5's 'Frontline Pilipinas' with a resident named Marilyn De Guzman, she said they heard first 2 shots followed by the third shot after a brief pause.

When they stepped out, that's when they discovered the lifeless body of one of the men that were caught by the CCTV.

According to residents, the area where the man was shot was dark because that part of Purok 4 was dark because of the absence of street lights.

Barangay officials said the victim was not their resident. They also believed it was well planned because the crime was executed after the patrolmen of their place had finished with their rounds.

They also think illegal dr*gs could be a reason behind the crime since what's believed to be a sachet of illegal dr*gs was found inside the victim's pocket.

The suspect said he was there to talk to his wife and settle their misunderstanding, but unfortunately, it led to a big arguement.
