Police authorities in San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan, have announced a significant development in the investigation into the shooting deaths of two criminology students at a local milk tea shop on Monday afternoon, April 21, 2025.

According to Police Officer Marwineto Lucio, the Investigator-on-Case for the San Jose Del Monte Police, the suspect in the brutal incident has already been identified.

Based on their initial findings, the suspect is reportedly a resident of a neighboring barangay.

Patrolman Lucio stated that based on their initial investigation, the two victims were eating in the cafeteria when the suspect came and shot them.

“Sa aming initial investigation, ang dalawang biktima is kumakain dun sa cafeteria nang bumaba yung suspek at binaril niya yung dalawang biktima,” Pat. Lucio said during the interview.

The identification of the suspect was aided by eyewitness accounts and the review of closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage from the vicinity.

The investigator further said that the suspect is known in the whole area.

“Yung suspek po kasi is kilala naman dun sa area na yun, doon sa buong area na yun. Kaya nung nag-investigation kami sa CCTV, kahit na yung mga sinabi ng initial witness natin, na-identify po nila yung suspek,” the police investigator assigned to the case said.

“Sa ngayon po ay nagi-initial possible initial investigation pa kami, kinukolekta namin yung mga unang CCTV footage, nagkaroon daw po ng gulo, at tinitingnan namin kung papano magiging konek yun sa bawat isa,” he added.

Currently, the police are in the preliminary stages of their investigation, focusing on gathering crucial evidence.

In other news, seven people were found dead after a violent stabbing incident inside a bakery in Barangay Cupang, Antipolo City. Police Colonel Felipe Maraggun confirmed the multiple-murder case early Tuesday, following a report from a barangay watchman. The suspect has surrendered to authorities at the Philippine National Police headquarters in Camp Crame, Quezon City. Police are continuing their investigation to determine the motive behind the deadly attack.
