“We can arrest some people right now but we can't get the mastermind. We want the mastermind,” Marbil stated, highlighting the authorities' commitment to dismantling the entire criminal network involved in the case.

The PNP’s investigation, which commenced while Que and Pabillo were still missing, has revealed that the incident extends beyond a typical kidnap-for-ransom scenario.

“We are sharing notes what happened sabi ko nga may malaki kasing twist e. Hanggang doon lang muna ako,” Marbil explained, emphasizing the complexity of the case and the presence of significant, undisclosed details.

Adding another layer to the investigation, Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla addressed a news report alleging that a Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) syndicate was responsible for Que's murder due to an unpaid debt.

“We are aware of this theory or this piece of news and we actually have more information about it but we don't want to divulge everything in media we need to operate quietly,” Remulla said.

The bodies of Que and Pabillo were discovered in Rodriguez, Rizal, on April 9th, marking a tragic end to their disappearance.

Prior to the discovery, video evidence surfaced showing the black van they were last seen in being abandoned on Seminary Road in Barangay Toro, Quezon City, on the night of March 29th.

The van was officially reported as abandoned on April 8th, prompting further investigation and confirming suspicions of foul play.

The involvement of a POGO syndicate, as suggested by the news report and acknowledged by the Justice Secretary, introduces a potential link to organized crime and raises questions about the scope of the investigation.

Authorities are reportedly pursuing various leads and gathering evidence to establish the motive behind the killings and identify all individuals involved.
