A man was fatally stabbed by his own brother while preparing food at their home in Barangay Mandulog, Iligan City.

According to a report by GMA Regional TV One Mindanao on Friday, the 52-year-old victim was unexpectedly attacked with a knife by his brother, with no apparent motive.
Despite sustaining serious injuries, the victim managed to retaliate by slashing the suspect with a sickle or lawn mower, causing injuries to the latter.
Unfortunately, the victim succumbed to his wounds and was declared dead upon arrival at the hospital.

The suspect, who was also injured, was arrested by authorities and brought to the hospital for medical treatment.
Police are still investigating the motive behind the brutal attack.
In a separate incident, violence also broke out between siblings in Barangay Tambacan, Iligan City.
A 22-year-old man attacked his brother, slashing his neck during a heated confrontation.
Fortunately, the victim survived the assault and is recovering.
The suspect fled the scene after the attack, but police tracked him down the following day at a local computer shop, where he was arrested.
Authorities have yet to determine the cause of the incident, and appropriate charges will be filed against the suspect.

Investigation showed that the pickup driven by a 23-year-old bank teller counterflowed.
In other news, an elderly man died after he and his wife were ambushed while travelling aboard their pickup truck along a national highway in Buluan, Maguindanao del Sur. According to a report by GMA Regional TV News, the 77-year-old male died while his 66-year-old wife suffered injuries. Reports also state that the 77-year-old male was identified as a manager at an agri-machinery company. Investigators say that the two were tailed by motorcycle-riding gunmen and when they got to a certain, they opened fire, fatally injuring the 77-year-old male and inflicting injuries to his wife.
