A viral video showing a group of men pranking their elderly grandmother, who is a person with a disability (PWD), has sparked outrage and drawn immediate action from the barangay.

In the video, one of the woman’s grandsons was seen thrusting his knee behind her, attempting to bend her backward.

When he let go, the old woman clutched her left shoulder, appearing to be in pain.

The video quickly caught the attention of barangay officials, who immediately stepped in to assist the elderly woman.

Barangay Captain Jeff Fernan confirmed to ABS-CBN News that the men involved in the prank were related to the victim.

A nephew of the elderly woman also spoke to ABS-CBN, expressing his disappointment and distress over the incident.

He described it as extremely stressful and unacceptable, emphasizing the need to take action.

Although the grandchildren involved in the prank have apologized to their grandmother, the nephew remains firm in his decision to pursue a complaint against them.

The incident has raised concerns about the treatment of the elderly, particularly those with disabilities, and has sparked calls for better awareness and respect toward vulnerable family members.

Meanwhile, a female graduating criminology working student who works as a service crew of a large fast food chain died after her motorcycle collided with a pickup. Another female service crew, who was backriding on the motorcycle was brought to the hospital, and is recovering from fractures. The 26-year-old victim was declared dead on arrival at the hospital. Investigation showed that the pickup driven by a 23-year-old bank teller counterflowed.

In other news, an elderly man died after he and his wife were ambushed while travelling aboard their pickup truck along a national highway in Buluan, Maguindanao del Sur. According to a report by GMA Regional TV News, the 77-year-old male died while his 66-year-old wife suffered injuries. Reports also state that the 77-year-old male was identified as a manager at an agri-machinery company. Investigators say that the two were tailed by motorcycle-riding gunmen and when they got to a certain, they opened fire, fatally injuring the 77-year-old male and inflicting injuries to his wife.
