Police Colonel Felipe Maraggun, Provincial Director of the Rizal Provincial Police Office, disclosed that the accused was a known family acquaintance.

The alleged incidents are reported to have occurred twice in 2023, specifically in May and July, but were not reported until June 2024.

The accused, known as alias “Cardo,” denies the allegations, asserting that he treated the children entrusted to him as his own.

He also stated that he was not present during the reported times of the alleged abuse, due to his work schedule.

He explained his guardianship as an act of compassion, as the child's mother had no relatives available to care for them.

However, investigations revealed that the victim did not immediately report the abuse due to alleged threats from the accused that he would remove her from the home.
