A Filipino couple, both teachers from Bais, Negros Oriental, along with two other Filipinos, have been reported missing following a powerful earthquake that struck Myanmar.

The missing individuals have been identified as couple Edsil Jess and Alexis Gale Aladid, along with Barren Barcelo and Francis Aragon.

All four were residing at the Sky Villa Condominium, which was severely affected by the quake.

A footage shared by GMA Integrated News showed a fellow Filipino calling out the names of the missing teachers at the site of the rubble where their condominium unit once stood.

According to reports, the location was chosen by the fellow teacher after identifying a brown jacket believed to belong to the couple.

The powerful earthquake left buildings in ruins, with many people still unaccounted for.

Search and rescue operations are ongoing, and authorities are doing their best to locate survivors amid the devastation.

Families of the missing Filipinos are anxiously awaiting updates and praying for the safety of their loved ones.

The Philippine government is coordinating with Myanmar authorities to assist in the search efforts and provide support to affected Filipinos.

As the situation unfolds, loved ones and the Filipino community continue to hope for the safe return of Edsil Jess, Alexis Gale, Barren, and Francis.

In other news, an elderly man died after he and his wife were ambushed while travelling aboard their pickup truck along a national highway in Buluan, Maguindanao del Sur. According to a report by GMA Regional TV News, the 77-year-old male died while his 66-year-old wife suffered injuries. Reports also state that the 77-year-old male was identified as a manager at an agri-machinery company. Investigators say that the two were tailed by motorcycle-riding gunmen and when they got to a certain, they opened fire, fatally injuring the 77-year-old male and inflicting injuries to his wife.
