A large hole on Mabini Street in Maypajo, Caloocan City has caused trouble for motorists after several vehicles got stuck.

In a report by Raffy Tima on Balitanghali this Friday, CCTV footage captured a slow-moving car maneuvering along Mabini Street.
Moments later, the vehicle’s front wheel suddenly fell into the hole.
Another angle from the CCTV provided a clearer view of the incident.

On the same day, a blue sport utility vehicle (SUV) that passed through the same area also encountered problems due to the hole.
The hole had a cover, but it was insufficient to fully conceal it, making it a hazard for motorists.
The hole is part of the box culvert drainage system along Mabini Street, where many similar openings lack proper warning signs. Some of the drainage holes remain completely uncovered.
The Metro Manila 3rd District Engineering Office of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) confirmed that the project is under their jurisdiction.
"Supposed to be dapat meron siyang nakapaikot na naka-elevate, at least visible siya sa mata ng motorist. Kaya as soon as malaman namin na ganoon 'yung situation, pinaayos po namin agad kay contractor," said Engr. Jose Mangulabnan, Project Engineer of the Metro Manila 3rd District Engineering Office.
Workers in the area stated that they were already scheduled to cover the potholes soon.
The incident highlights the importance of clear warning signs and proper maintenance of roadworks to prevent further accidents and inconvenience to motorists.

Meanwhile, a female graduating criminology working student who works as a service crew of a large fast food chain died after her motorcycle collided with a pickup. Another female service crew, who was backriding on the motorcycle was brought to the hospital, and is recovering from fractures. The 26-year-old victim was declared dead on arrival at the hospital. Investigation showed that the pickup driven by a 23-year-old bank teller counterflowed.

In other news, an elderly man died after he and his wife were ambushed while travelling aboard their pickup truck along a national highway in Buluan, Maguindanao del Sur. According to a report by GMA Regional TV News, the 77-year-old male died while his 66-year-old wife suffered injuries. Reports also state that the 77-year-old male was identified as a manager at an agri-machinery company. Investigators say that the two were tailed by motorcycle-riding gunmen and when they got to a certain, they opened fire, fatally injuring the 77-year-old male and inflicting injuries to his wife.
