A serious altercation in Barangay Sinawal, General Santos City, has resulted in a police lieutenant sustaining multiple gunshot wounds, allegedly inflicted by his live-in partner, who is also a police officer.

The incident, which unfolded late Monday evening, March 24, 2025, has prompted an investigation by local authorities.
Officials from the General Santos City Police Office confirmed on Tuesday morning that Police Lieutenant Joseph Miasan Denaga, a 50-year-old member of a Police Regional Office-12 unit, suffered severe injuries from the gunfire.
Patrolwoman Kamille Kaye Daliva Asuncion, Denaga's live-in partner, voluntarily surrendered to responding police officers at the scene.

Neighbors reported hearing a heated argument between the couple prior to the shooting.
The dispute reportedly centered on Asuncion's complaints of alleged bullying by her fellow police officers. Shortly after, multiple gunshots were heard emanating from their residence.
