A househelper was arrested after stealing P160,000 from his former employer, a 69-year-old woman in Talisay, Cebu.

According to a report from News5 Everywhere, the suspect used the money to purchase illegal substances, food, expensive slippers, and sacks of rice, while also giving a portion to his friends.

The victim, in an exclusive interview with News5, recounted how the suspect gained entry into her home through the bathroom window.

She expressed deep disappointment over the incident, stating that the stolen money was the result of years of hard work and was meant for important expenses, including credit card payments.

Authorities were able to recover only P14,000 when the suspect was apprehended, as he had already spent most of the stolen cash.

The old woman even revealed the ingress and egress of the suspect, which was through a window in the bathroom.

During the interview, she also mentioned that she withdrew P50,000 out of her pension to pay for her credit card bills.

The case has sparked discussions on security and trust, especially when hiring household workers.

The victim hopes justice will be served, as she struggles to recover from the financial loss.

Police continue their investigation, ensuring that those involved will be held accountable.
