Twenty-one Grade 3 students from a school in Talisay City were rushed to the hospital after experiencing symptoms of a possible food poisoning incident.

According to a report by GMA Regional TV, the affected students complained of abdominal pain, while five of them allegedly vomited after consuming an unidentified meal.

The Talisay City Health Office (CHO) immediately responded to the situation and took samples of the suspected food for testing to determine the cause of the illness.

Following medical treatment, the students were deemed stable and were allowed to return home.

Meanwhile, a female graduating criminology working student who works as a service crew of a large fast food chain died after her motorcycle collided with a pickup. Another female service crew, who was backriding on the motorcycle was brought to the hospital, and is recovering from fractures. The 26-year-old victim was declared dead on arrival at the hospital. Investigation showed that the pickup driven by a 23-year-old bank teller counterflowed.

In other news, an elderly man died after he and his wife were ambushed while travelling aboard their pickup truck along a national highway in Buluan, Maguindanao del Sur. According to a report by GMA Regional TV News, the 77-year-old male died while his 66-year-old wife suffered injuries. Reports also state that the 77-year-old male was identified as a manager at an agri-machinery company. Investigators say that the two were tailed by motorcycle-riding gunmen and when they got to a certain, they opened fire, fatally injuring the 77-year-old male and inflicting injuries to his wife.
