A 29-year-old call center agent lost his life after being a victim of a hit-and-run by a speeding car.

The incident took place along Quirino Highway in Barangay Bagbag, Novaliches, Quezon City.

CCTV footage showed the man getting off a van and crossing the pedestrian lane when a speeding car suddenly hit him.

The impact threw the victim's body several feet away, hitting the concrete barriers.

In a report by TV 5's 'Frontline Tonight,' the victim, identified as Den Adrian John Viaje, has a wife and two young kids.

He was rushed to the hospital for immediate medical attention, but he eventually passed away.

The driver of the white car is now at large after fleeing from the crime scene.

In the Philippines, a hit-and-run resulting in death carries criminal, civil, and administrative penalties, including imprisonment under Article 365 of the Revised Penal Code, which ranges from two years, four months, and one day to six years.

The offender may also face civil liability, requiring compensation for damages to the victim’s family, and administrative sanctions such as license suspension or revocation by the Land Transportation Office (LTO).

Additionally, Article 275 penalizes abandonment of one’s victim, imposing imprisonment from one month and one day to six months.
