A tragic incident in Barangay Lourdes, Pampanga, has resulted in the death of a 50-year-old mother, who was struck by a tricycle while crossing a road.

The footage shows the mother allowing her child to complete the crossing independently, while she then began to retrace her steps. It was during this return that she was struck by an oncoming tricycle.

Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene, and the victim was transported to a medical facility.

However, she succumbed to the severe injuries sustained in the collision. The tricycle driver is now in police custody and faces appropriate legal charges.

Police Lieutenant Colonel John Tacdoy, chief of the Lubao Police, stated that the driver claimed he did not see the victim turn back and cross the road again, leaving him unable to avoid the collision.

Authorities are currently attempting to obtain statements from the victim's family.

This incident highlights the ever present dangers of road ways, and the vulnerability of pedestrians. The rapid nature of traffic, and the potential blind spots that are created while driving.
