A newborn baby girl was discovered abandoned in front of a store in Pigcawayan, Cotabato, at approximately 3 a.m.

According to a report by GMA Integrated News, the infant was left inside a box and placed near the entrance of the establishment.
CCTV footage captured the moment when an unidentified man, carrying the box, arrived at the store.

He was seen placing the box on the ground before hastily getting on a waiting motorcycle, which sped off immediately after.
The man’s identity remains unknown as authorities continue their investigation.
The store owner, who initially noticed the box, admitted feeling a sense of fear, suspecting it might contain an explosive device.
However, her concerns were dispelled when she heard the unmistakable cries of a baby coming from inside.
Upon opening the box, she found the infant wrapped in cloth and appearing to be just a few hours old.
Without hesitation, the store owner and concerned residents contacted local authorities and immediately brought the baby to the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) for proper care and medical attention.
Initial assessments suggested that the baby had been alive for only about two hours before being abandoned.
The authorities are now working to identify the individual responsible for leaving the infant.
