Vice President Sara Duterte will not serve as one of the legal counsels of former president Rodrigo Duterte at the ICC.

This was revealed by former presidential spokesperson Harry Roque through a Facebook Live session, which was shared by News5.
"Lilinawin ko lang po yung mga lumalabas na report, hindi po magiging abogado ng president si VP Sara dahil sa Saligang Batas natin ay merong pagbabawal sa pagpraktis ng propesyon. So ang kanyang karapatan pong bumisita ay bilang pong anak," Roque said.
"So uulitin ko po, hindi siya papasok bilang isang abogado. Pero kanina po, alas nwebe hanggang alas diyes, ay nakapasok po si former executive secretary Medialdea. Importante po na malaman ninyo kung ano ang lagay ng ating presidente," Roque stated during his live broadcast.

Roque emphasized that VP Sara’s visit to The Hague was purely as the daughter of Duterte and not in any legal capacity.
Additionally, he confirmed that former executive secretary Salvador Medialdea was able to visit the former president for about an hour and found him in good spirits.
Roque then panned the camera and asked Medialdea about Duterte’s condition. Medialdea responded, stating that Duterte is doing well and remains in high spirits.
He also said that FPRRD was thinking of his supporters and conveyed his thanks to those who support him."
Medialdea also shared that the former president misses simple Filipino dishes, such as 'tuyo,' 'munggo,' and 'piniritong saging.'"

Meanwhile, GMA News took to Instagram to warn about a fake video that is being spread on social media. According to GMA News, the fake "prayer rally video" for PRRD in Cebu was edited, and that the original was actually their video taken during the Sinulog. The network then shared a side by side comparison of the fake video vis-a-vis the real video that they shot from Sinulog Festival. GMA also explained that the video was during a procession of the devotees on January 17, 2025.
In other news, illicit drug trade disguised as a parcel distribution center was recently uncovered by authorities. In a surveillance video shared on 24 Oras Weekend, one can see an individual receiving a parcel from a rider in front of an apartment building. Subsequently, another person seen waiting for another set of package in the same place. Authorities later swooped down on the said parcel distribution center and seized pastic bag and sachets of suspected illegal substance with an estimated street value of around 6.8 million pesos.
