- A man allegedly breaking into several residences in a barangay in Antipolo City and getting belongings of residents was recently apprehended by his victims in the act of committing the crime

- The suspect, known only by the moniker “Bai,” allegedly stole belongings like mobile phones, clothing, and even undergarments from several residences in Barangay San Isidro, Antipolo City

- In a report by “Unang Balita,” the citizens captured the suspect in the act of stealing some more belongings from a residence in the area at around three in the morning

- The residents then turned him over to barangay officials, who said they will turn over the suspect to the Antipolo Component City Police Station

A man suspected of multiple residential burglaries was apprehended by residents in Barangay San Isidro, Antipolo City, after being caught in the act.

The suspect, known as “Bai,” allegedly stole cellphones, clothing, and undergarments from multiple residences.

The incident, as reported by EJ Gomez on Unang Balita, occurred early Thursday morning.

Residents apprehended the suspect around 3 a.m. During the arrest, the suspect reportedly attempted to escape and resisted, leading residents and barangay officials to restrain him by tying him to a post. According to barangay officials, the suspect targeted two separate residences.

Romelia Sernal, a resident, recounted that the commotion from the suspect's apprehension awakened her household. She stated, “Nakita ko po ‘yung damit ng anak ko, 'yung underwear at 'yung shirt, nasa katawan po niya, nalaglag.”

The suspect then proceeded to target the residence of Lady Izza Joy Pesino.

Pesino reported, “May narinig po akong kaluskos. Tapos po, kinukutuban ko lang siya. Tapos doon po, nakita po namin na may patalim siya. ‘Pag labas ko po may nakabantay na po palang tao roon kasi may nakakita po na pumasok doon sa bahay namin. Tapos hinuli po siya.”

Marvin Corpuz, the chief tanod of Barangay San Isidro, identified the suspect as a known thief involved in residential burglaries and allegedly linked to drug activities.

Corpuz claimed that the suspect had targeted at least ten residences.

The 30-year-old suspect admitted to the crimes. He stated, “Akala ko po, doon pa nakatira 'yung tropa, kakilala ko noon. Kasi tambayan po namin dati iyon. Nagbebenta po.”

The suspect also admitted to burglarizing approximately six houses, including those in Quezon City.

Following his apprehension, the suspect underwent a medical examination and is scheduled to be turned over to the Antipolo Component City Police Station.
