A 53-year-old man sustained injuries after allegedly brandishing a firearm at responding police officers in Cebu City.

The incident, which occurred in Barangay Cogon Ramos, resulted in the man being shot by the police.
According to a report from Cyril Chaves of GMA Regional TV on "Balitanghali" this past Friday, the Abellana Police Station 2 received reports from local residents regarding an armed individual in the area.
Upon arrival, authorities approached the man, who then reportedly drew a firearm and aimed it at the officers.

In response, the police officers discharged their weapons, striking the man in the leg.
It was reported that the suspect's own firearm failed to discharge. The injured man was subsequently taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Authorities recovered a .38 caliber firearm with ammunition from the suspect.
Legal proceedings are now underway, with charges being prepared against the man for violations related to the election gun ban.
