A dead baby was discovered among a pile of garbage in Manila’s Baseco Compound on Thursday night, as reported by GMA Integrated News' Jhomer Apresto on Unang Balita Friday morning.

Based on the CCTV footage shared by GMA, two men spotted the baby’s remains near the seawall in Block 15 at around 10 p.m.

The body was wrapped in a bloodstained bedsheet.

“Nakita lang doon, may babae na nagtingin ng basura. Tapos, may fetus na nakita,” said Barangay 649 desk officer Nearwin Surposa.

Surposa added that they are closely reviewing CCTV footage and monitoring radio reports to determine who left the baby there.

“Mino-monitor ko sa radio kung saan galing. At saka sa CCTV, pina-review ko kung kanino talaga yun, sino nagtapon. Hindi tiyak ang oras at saka kung sino talagang nagdala,” he explained.

Authorities sealed off the area, and funeral service personnel arrived to retrieve the baby’s remains.

Surposa stated that whoever brought the baby there should not have done it since the baby should be buried.

“Sa nagdala doon kung sinuman, sana dapat hindi gawin yun. Puwede naman ipalibing kaagad yun sa sementeryo,” Surposa stated.

Police are now investigating to identify those involved.

As reported in TV 5's 'Frontline Pilipinas,' the suspect, Jason Dalayon, was resting on a hammock when he saw the victim and called him. That's when the suspect stabbed the victim, multiple times; as reported, the victim sustained a total of 13 stab wounds.
