Two men accused of robbing two women in Barangay St. Peter, Quezon City, have been apprehended with the help of CCTV footage and a messaging app.

The suspects admitted to committing the crime, claiming they were in a hurry and acted out of desperation.

According to a report by Bam Alegre on Unang Balita this Tuesday, the incident took place on the night of February 28.

The two female employees were on their way home when the suspects suddenly approached them, forcibly taking their bags and mobile phones.

Authorities immediately launched an investigation, reviewing CCTV footage to track down the perpetrators.

One of the suspects, a motorcycle rider, was arrested first.

Using his messaging app, the police were able to trick his accomplice into a meeting in Barangay Balingasa, leading to his swift arrest.

Upon their capture, law enforcers recovered two firearms, which the victims confirmed had been used to threaten them during the robbery.

The victims also positively identified the suspects.

The two men are now facing charges for robbery with intimidation as well as violations of the Omnibus Election Code.

Both suspects expressed remorse for their actions.

One of them claimed, “Matinding pangangailangan din po, sir. Pambili lang po ng *** ng anak."
The other simply stated, “Dala lang po ng matinding pangangailangan."

In another viral local report, a suitcase containing a dead body of a minor girl was found floating on a river in San Jose, Del Monte, Bulacan. According to a report by Bea Pinlac in GMA 7's 'Unang Balita,' residents of the area have been complaining about the foul odor coming from it. When police authorities came to inspect what was inside the suitcase, they found a bloated body of a minor girl. According to the police, the body was in fetal position, clothes were intact, but wounds were found on her body.
