Three Vietnamese nationals were apprehended by authorities in Cavite for allegedly engaging in the unauthorized practice of medicine.

The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) of the Philippine National Police (PNP) conducted the operation, leading to the arrest of individuals identified as Dr. Julie Nguyen, Dr. Luna Pham, and Dr. Ryan Truong.

According to a statement released by the PNP on Sunday, the individuals were operating in Imus, Cavite, where they were reportedly offering a range of cosmetic procedures.

In a report by GMA News, it stated that the procedures offered by the three included stem cell injections, hair regrowth treatments, body sculpting, bio-stimulation collagen therapy, and various derma-related services.

However, during the course of the investigation, it was discovered that the individuals lacked the necessary medical licenses and permits required to dispense medical products, operate a medical facility, or practice medicine within the Philippines.

This deficiency in proper credentials raised serious concerns about the legality and safety of their operations.

“They failed to present the required medical licenses and permits to dispense medical products, operate a medical facility, or practice medicine in the Philippines,” the PNP, in a statement, said.

During the arrest, law enforcement officials confiscated a substantial amount of evidence, including boxes of assorted medicines, medical and cosmetic products, and related devices.

Additionally, notebooks containing records of medical procedures, prescription medications, and receipts issued to clients were seized.

These items will be used as evidence in the prosecution of the case.

The PNP emphasized the severity of the alleged offenses, stating that “The illegal practice of medicine poses a serious threat to public health, and CIDG will continue to go after individuals who engage in these unlawful activities.”

They further asserted that the CIDG will continue to pursue individuals who engage in such unlawful activities.

The operation serves as a clear warning to both local and foreign individuals involved in criminal activities.

The CIDG has reiterated its commitment to apprehending those who violate the law, thereby preventing and solving crimes.

“This operation is a warning to all criminals, local or foreign, that the CIDG is unyielding and steadfast in catching all of you to prevent and solve crimes. We encourage the public to report any illegal practice of medicine and other criminal activities in your localities and CIDG will do the rest,” the PNP added.

The police force is also encouraging the public to actively participate in crime prevention by reporting any suspected illegal medical practices or other criminal activities within their communities.

Still in other news, a fatal collision occurred within the vicinity of Binalonan in Pangasinan. The vehicles involved were a delivery truck and a car colliding with each other head on. The collision resulted in the death of the driver of the car and inflicting injuries to his wife who was with him in the car at the time. According to authorities, the delivery truck attempted to overtake a bus that stopped along the side of the road.
