A grieving grandmother sought the help of authorities after her newborn grandchild went missing, only to discover the infant in a heartbreaking state one week later.

According to Riariza Basilia, Violence Against Women and Children (VAWC) Officer of Barangay San Jose, the distressed grandmother first approached their office to report that her daughter had recently given birth, but the baby was nowhere to be found.
Alarmed by the situation, authorities were alerted, but there was no immediate breakthrough in locating the infant.
A week later, the grandmother returned to the barangay office, still desperate for answers.

Authorities accompanied her back to the residence where her daughter and the daughter’s live-in partner were staying.
Upon arrival, they witnessed a disturbing scene—the partner was seen carrying a box. Suspicious, they checked inside and made the grim discovery.
The missing newborn was found wrapped in plastic, already in an advanced state of decomposition.
The man was taken into custody but was released since he was the father.
Authorities could not also pinpoint if the baby was born alive or dead.
Authorities have since launched an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the baby’s death.
The shocking discovery has raised serious concerns, and officials are working to uncover the truth behind the tragic fate of the infant.
Meanwhile, the grandmother remains devastated, struggling to come to terms with the horrifying reality of what happened to her grandchild.
Authorities tried to take the mother into custody, but escaped.
