Hours later, at around 5:30 p.m., the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) search and rescue team located the body of the second diver, whose right hand had been severed.

An initial investigation suggested that the sea current suddenly changed, separating the group.

The two surviving divers, along with their master diver, managed to surface safely, but the two fatalities were swept away, according to ABS-CBN's report.

Lapitan.

The recovery of the second victim’s body proved difficult due to the presence of multiple sharks in the area.

Authorities suspect a possible shark attack, given that the victim’s right hand was missing.
