Two suspects were arrested in a buy-bust operation conducted beside Quiapo Church in Manila.

They were allegedly discreetly selling medicine believed to be effective for abortion.

According to police authorities, church personnel tipped them off about the alleged illegal transaction taking place right beside the church.

The suspects were identified as a 70-year-old woman, who was a former barangay kagawad, and her niece.

In a report by GMA 7's 'Unang Balita,' the elderly suspect was already imprisoned before for the same violation.

According to police authorities, the medicines were mainly being patronized by students. These medicines are available from 1,000 to 3,500.
