The dog had five improvised arrows impaled in its body.

In a report by Pia Arcangel in GMA 7's 'SAKSI' on Monday, the owner discovered her dog named 'Tiktok' in a very bad condition, appearing weak and helpless.

Additionally, a metal wire was also found tightly wrapped around the poor dog's neck.

One concerned citizen saw the helpless condition of the dog and shared it online, that's why it reached an animal welfare group, which gave the dog immediate medical attention.

Animal rights advocates also joined forces in gathering funds to help the dog's owner financially in getting it treated.

According to the police authorities, the dog was targeted for fun by an individual.

Meanwhile, reward money amounting to 235,000 was put up by the local government and other groups to whoever could identify the suspect behind the animal cruelty act done to Tiktok.

In the Philippines, harming a dog is punishable under Republic Act No. 8485, or the Animal Welfare Act of 1998, as amended by Republic Act No. 10631.

Anyone who hurts or abuses a dog may face imprisonment of six months to two years and a fine of ₱30,000 to ₱100,000, while causing a dog's death can result in one year and six months to three years of imprisonment and a fine of ₱50,000 to ₱250,000.

Harsher penalties apply if the offender is a public official or involved in the pet trade. Law enforcement agencies, animal welfare organizations, and pet owners can take legal action against violators.
